This weekend sees the Batley Bulldogs take on Sheffield Eagles in a double feature at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster. A positive result is needed to keep the momentum going.
Although Sheffield has been our bogie team over the last few years, there have been some great encounters between the two teams, none more so than the Championship Final in 2013, in which, it has to be said, Batley were thrilled to take part in.
From a Batley point of view, it was an incredible first half, and must rank as one of the best halves in many a year from our point of view. The icing on the cake of course was Jonny Campbell’s magnificent try to take Batley into an 8 – 0 lead. Batley came second at the end of the day, but nonetheless did themselves, their supporters and the town proud.
