Featherstone pip Bulldogs in Close Encounter
Batley failed to register their second win of the season after a closely fought battle at the Big Fellas Stadium.
Batley took an early lead after Dave Scott crossed the try line. Pat Walker’s conversion gave the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead. But 2 tries in quick succesion by Handley and Taulapapa, both converted by Briggs, put Featherstone in the driving seat. The Bulldogs came back into the game in the second half after Reittie gathered a kick to the corner from Gledhill and Walker converted to make it 14-12.
Featherstone however managed to hold on to this slender lead, and were able to keep Batley out in the dying minutes of the game, as they pressed to cross the line.
