An on fire Batley side showed the pride, passion and commitment so badly missing last week to see off the London Broncos 31 – 20 and thus keep up their hopes of making the Middle 8s. Now only an away match at Swinton (one of the few teams to beat the Bulldogs at home this season) stand between Batley and encounters with Leeds, Huddersfield, Salford and Hull KR.
Due to the results on other pitches today, Batley move into third position on 29 points and can only be ousted from the top four on goal difference. As fifth placed Featherstone host fourth placed Bradford next week (both on 28 points), only one club can get more points than Batley, whereas 6th placed Halifax on 27 points must beat London to reach 29. A win at Swinton next week however would save us getting the calculators out.
