Brambani Drop secures first Qualifier points

Batley Bulldogs Featherstone Rovers Report

11 - 10

A drop goal by Dominic Brambani shortly before the break proved the difference between two sides looking for their first points in the Super8s qualifiers. At this time Batley were trailing by 4 – 8 after conceding tries by Duckworth and Briscoe to one reply through Wayne Reittie, and at that point nobody could imagine the significance of this effort by Dom.

In the second half with the Bulldogs going down the slope the Rovers defence held strong and the scores progressed very slowly only by virtue of two penalty goals, one for each side, before Wayne Reittie again broke the deadlock to go over making the score 11 – 10 to the Bulldogs.

All in all a hard fought win for the dogs, who now move off the bottom of the table, and now have the same number of points as 5th placed London
