Batley Hammer Out Warning to Relegation Rivals
Batley hammered out a warning to relegation rivals Hunslet and Whitehaven with a 50 point victory over the latter.
After the unfortunate incidents at Featherstone, Batley took charge from the start to give Whitehaven no chance. Alex Brown scored an hattrick, whereas namesake James Brown got a brace of tries, to give the Bulldogs the upper hand. Further scorers were Day, Squires, Blake, Hirst and Ainscough. Leatherbarrow scored 5 goals.
After this victory Batley move up to fifth in the table, dragging down Whitehaven into the relegation dogfight in the process, and a win next week against the Jekyll and Hyde team London would surely see the bulldogs coast to safety by virtue of a far superior points difference.
